Mehov is a company distributor of fur and leather, established in Ukraine in1990. It is one of the first companies in the Ukrainian marketplace to be able to establish strong relationships with Western fur farms and biggest fur auction houses in the world.
Our goal today is to become the prime producers of fur and leather products in Ukraine.
Mehov’s history begins in the beginning of the 90’s when the Ukrainian marketplace expressed a high demand for luxury products with little willingnes to risk starting cooperation with Western coumpanies after a longlasting Soveiet era. Mehov was one to take the risk and start cooperating with foreign markets with no guarantee of success. Nonetheless, Mehov had a strong will and motivation that undoubtably helped us to succeed – a patriotic ideal, the will to exelarate socioeconimic growth of Ukraine and its citizens.
Thus, Mehov being very motivated was able to establish longlasting business relationships and become one of the most important distributors of fur and leather in Ukraine. The quality and variety of what Mehov had to offer to the best fashion houses was more than enough to elevate our country to the level of fur coat manufacturers of the biggest fashion capitals. Throughout two decades of our developement, Mehov was the first one to establish tight relations with such auction houses such as SAGA, Kopenhagen Fur, and Nafa.
Despite of todays recognition, paving the path of Mehov’s current glory was rather bitter. We earned respect and recognition from days of manual production, while putting together pieces of fur together, the fruit of which would first appear on the market of the post-soviet countries. One by one, we were able to connect with professionals of the high end fur industry which lead to the increase of the demand for Ukrainian fur manufacturers world wide.
When choosing auction houses and brokers the two most essential factors were quality and the origin of goods. Therefore, the quality of our products is a reflection of positive environmental and habitual conditions under which animals are kept and raised. Western farms and final products in the auction houses are constantly observed by fur farms protection organizations and related rules and procedures. Mehov, buying fur from auction houses, urges a stop to illegal activities and violence towards wild life habitants.
After buying fur, it is essential to dress it in accordance to the qualified standards and procedures. Thus, choosing a dressing company affects the final product of yours, its durability, color, and form.
When working with dressing companies, Mehov chooses only well-established European rooted companies, firms that process fur in accordance to Internationally agreed procedures, such as Cipel France/Baltica and Eurotan.
Ukraine, as well as its citizens, are overcoming difficult times caused by polotical and economic instability and International conflicts. Mehov, however, is taking a risk once more in order to be able to contribute and facilitate Ukraine back to stability and growth, just like during the period of its birth. Our goal starting from 2015 is to be able to supply the Ukrainian market with fur and leather products made in Ukraine. We are combining European quality and ethicaly produced fur with hard work of Ukrainian designers and manufacturers.
